Here's me an my sweetie, Lotte, on a camp trip in Pt. Reyes.

Yosemite and back

Mist on Lake Tenaya, morning in Yosemite.

One of many IOOF Halls along my path. This one dating to the 1800's.

Tuolumne Meadows with my hand blocking the sun.

Covered bridge in Knights Ferry, along 120, purportedly designed by Ulysses Grant's brother.

Well, that's all the photos but there was plenty more riding to get back to the bay area. I won't go into getting lost between Manteca and Tracy, climbing Patterson pass in dark or finding a cab in Livermore at 3 am.

Thanks for reading :)

395 corridor

Easy cruising along this valley floor east of the Sierras. Stopped to eat in Bridgeport, known as a supply base for area mining towns,  then south in Lee Vining before tackling Tioga pass. The valley is still at 6 or 7 thousand feet so I didn't have to climb all that way.
Photos include Bridgeport jail, another Clamper monument and a nice old truck, '32 Chevy I think.

Mountain Passes

Bike at top of Sonora pass, around 9600 ft. It was an all day effort getting here from last nights stay at Tullock Reservoir, below 1000 ft.
And on Tioga pass, 9900 ft., Yosemite Park gate. It was nice to get up here with daylight left but the rangers didn't applaud or anything.

Gettin' some groveling done.

These are photos from my 'round Yosemite tour, July 11-14, including Sonora, Tioga and Patterson passes. Whoa, was it a long one.

Here I am near the site of the Mother Lode discovery. One of many monuments along this trip. Already looking kinda cooked, but unfazed.

I started a the Bay Point BART station and crossed the valley on Rt. 4. Here's a narrow trestle bridge crossing the Old River, near Discovery Bay.
Screech Owl ?  along Rt. 4, in Gold Country, almost at Copperopolis.
There's Sierra Dan, 'Numerologist, Reflexologist'. I told him my birthdate and he told me all about myself. That was in historic Jamestown along 108. And some landcape views, Donnell Lake, along the middle fork of the Stanislaus river, and two mountain views as I approached the Sonora pass around sunset.
